Responsibilities:

1. Financial Data Entry: Assist in accurately recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expenses, into the accounting system.

2. Accounts Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

3. Assist in Month-end Close: Support month-end closing procedures by preparing journal entries, reviewing ledger entries, and helping to produce financial statements.

4. Financial Analysis: Participate in basic financial analysis by assisting in preparing reports that highlight trends, costs, and variances in financial data.

5. Expense Tracking: Help maintain a record of company expenses and ensure proper categorization for budgeting and reporting purposes.

6. Documentation: Assist in maintaining organized and up-to-date financial documentation and records for audits and reference.

7. Support Audits: Contribute to audit preparations by gathering necessary documents and assisting auditors during the audit process.

8. Assist with Payroll: Aid in payroll processing by ensuring accurate employee time and attendance records.

9. Adhere to Regulations: Maintain an understanding of relevant accounting principles, standards, and legal regulations to ensure compliance.

10. Special Projects: Contribute to special projects as assigned by senior accountants or supervisors, which may involve data analysis, process improvements, or system implementations.

 

Qualifications:

1. Current enrollment in an accredited accounting program or recent graduation in accounting, finance, or a related field.

2. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts.

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software.

4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

6. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

7. Strong organizational and time management skills.

8. Adaptability and willingness to learn new tasks and concepts.

 

Duration and Compensation:

1. The internship duration is typically for a specific period, such as 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

2. Compensation varies and may include a stipend, hourly wage, or academic credit, depending on the organization's policies.
